Ed Norton has no personality in this film.  Seriously, it must have been on strike or something.  Or maybe it’s just so painfully obvious now that approaching comic book films from a conventional angle will no longer do after RDJ in Iron Man.  By the way he shows up in this film as Tony Stark but for some reason he looks more like Prince than Robert Downey Jr.  Freaky…

But I digress…  This Hulk film is fine.  But that’s it.  I really found myself bored, nothing popped, no electricity.  The action sequences were well staged but do not necessarily inspire suspense.  The publicity behind this film has been so vocal about distancing itself from Ang Lee’s film five years ago.  It is a little bit arrogant, as they assume they have made a film that transcends that misfire, but this version is merely a margin better than its predecessor.  Will Hulk ever find an exciting cinematic outlet?

I hear that, due to clashes with the studio, Norton will not be back for any more of the action. He only signed on for one picture while Liv and others signed on for a full trilogy.  Apparently he thought that if this film is a hit, he can get more money out of them because they will HAVE to bring him back for continuity purposes.  THINK AGAIN!!!  My theory: If they have to keep re-casting the damn role to find the right guy to nail it…  DO IT!!!

Why can’t it be July 18 already????   No doubt that will be the shit to beat this summer!!
